Whole Sport Plan

In recent years, the Motor Sports Association has expanded its remit beyond its traditional administrative and regulatory activity, taking a lead in the development of the sport. It is a position that sits comfortably with the role of a governing body, occupying a central position at the heart of the sport, not only running British motor sport but also investing in its future and ensuring that it continues to grow and prosper.

Having invested substantial funding into a number of projects in recent years, the MSA’s Whole Sport Plan has now established a clear framework within which all of the existing activity, as well as some new initiatives, now sit. It follows the Sport England model of Grow / Sustain / Excel that has been widely adopted by many sports and is recognised by DCMS and other sporting bodies.


GROW	SUSTAIN	EXCEL
Grow is concerned with increasing participation levels, breaking down the barriers to entry and getting more people involved with the sport, at whatever level.	Sustain focuses on the sport itself and the funding, training and expenditure required to look after the infrastructure of the sport, through clubs, officials or marshals.	Excel provides a clear structure (through the MSA Academy) to identify the most promising talent and help it to achieve top level success.
