Launched in 2009, the three-year AASE in Motor Sport programme is delivered in conjunction with Loughborough College, ranked outstanding by Ofsted The programme is essentially a sports science course focusing on all of the human performance elements that combine to create highly skilled and successful drivers.
AASE comprises the following qualifications:
MSA Academy support
AASE athletes work closely with coaches, nutritionists and psychologists, and receive performance-based sessions in the technical and tactical elements of driving, coaching, lifestyle, career management, health and safety, communications and the media. This programme provides athletes with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge while working towards a fully accredited qualification, making competing in motor sport a responsible and legitimate career choice.
Members of the AASE programme are enrolled as students of Loughborough College. Working with the athletes, they develop blended study plans to support their learning with individual tutor guidance.
RSF MSA Young Driver of the Year
Each year one member of the AASE programme is named the RSF MSA Young Driver of the Year. The winner receives a trophy and a cheque for £1,000 at the MSA's prestigious Night of Champions ceremony at the Royal Automobile Club.
