Wales Rally GB is one of only two events to have been a qualifying and scoring round of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) since it was established in 1973. However the event predates the championship and has been run over 68 times since 1932. The event is now organised and promoted by the MSA's subsidiary, International Motor Sports (IMS).
Elfyn Evans capped a spectacularly successful 2017 Dayinsure Wales Rally GB, becoming the first British driver to win on home soil in the FIA World Rally Championship since 2000. More than 100,000 spectators lining the classic Welsh forest stages to witness the new generation of World Rally Cars.
