Wales Rally GB is one of only two events to have been a qualifying and scoring round of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) since it was established in 1973. However the event predates the championship and has been run over 68 times since 1932. The event is now organised and promoted by the MSA's subsidiary, International Motor Sports (IMS).
With 164 competitors from 23 nations, the longest competitive route in recent history, a return to Chester after 20 years and a new RallyFest stage at Cholmondeley Castle that drew 10,000 fans, the 2016 Dayinsure Wales Rally GB could not have been a better showcase for UK rallying.
Wales Rally GB 2017 runs from 26-28 October. Further information can be found at the official website, www.walesrallygb.com
