The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) is the premier title in international sportscar racing, featuring the same prototype race cars and road car-based GT machines that compete at the famous Le Mans 24 Hours race.
The championship visits the UK for the 6 Hours of Silverstone, where British fans can see Audi, Porsche and Toyota do battle for the LMP1 class honours and the prestigious Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy.
Thousands of people witnessed the opening round of the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Silverstone in April. The winning trio of Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima were awarded the Royal Automobile Club International Tourist Trophy first presented in 1905.
For 2018 the event moves from its traditional April date to the 19 August.
